Welcome to Doha Hockey Club Junior Hockey.

Doha Hockey Club provides junior hockey through its affiliated session managed by Mr. Neville Gibbs-Jones (contact 5873790).

The junior sessions offer basic hockey skills coaching, instructing the kids on ball control, movement and general rules of the game. The aim is to develop these players to play the game at a higher level. The session is open to levels of skills, all nationalities, gender and backgrounds. Sticks, balls and all training requirements are provided - just bring your own trainers!

The junior sessions are held during school term on a Monday afternoon as follows:-

• 4 pm to 5 pm – under 10’s
• 5 pm to 6 pm – over 10’s
• 6 pm to 7 pm – ladies hockey and older beginners

These sessions are held in the Qatar International School (QIS), school hall and during the cooler months, the players do enjoy the outdoors on the fields at the rear of the school.

Qatar International School is located in West Bay. From rainbow round about heading towards city center take the first right, building with sails on the roof is on the left after you turn. Approx 300 meters on the left is the Qatar International School. Park out side and the school hall is located towards the rear of the school in the middle. If the hall is empty then proceed to the grass fields at the back of the school on the left.

In May 2009, Doha Hockey Club supported Neville in fielding four teams in the Qatar Hockey junior tournament. Doha Hockey Club has provided the uniform for the kids and provided management support.

In the 2008/09 season a number of the girls from this programme played for the Doha Hockey Club Ladies Team which played against the Qatar Academy Junior boys. The series was completed 2-2.

These tournaments act as a transition from the junior ranks to the senior hockey. During the 2008-09 season, Doha Hockey Club played four under 18 players in the Qatar National League. These players where encouraged to develop their hockey under the coaching staff and experience of the senior players. Doha Hockey Club trains on a Wednesday night from 7pm at Al Rayan Sports Club.
