In 2008 the Committee of Doha Hockey Club resolved to develop Ladies Hockey in Doha. It has been very successful, with Doha Hockey Club developing a full Ladies side which played four matches in 2009.

The 2009 Ladies Team, lead by our inspirational Captain Jo and the Spanish superstar Berta, played four games against the Qatar Academy under 15 boys and finished 2 games all. The team was a mix of experienced ladies, who played for Doha Hockey Club in the Qatar National League and the Doha Hockey Club affiliated junior programme which was made up of school girls.

From September 2009, Doha Hockey Club plans to develop this one step further and commence ladies only training sessions at the Qatar International School on Mondays (during school term) from 6 to 7:30 pm. These sessions will include some basic hockey skills with some coaching from the senior men and a game inside the school hall. These sessions will follow the junior programme that starts from 4 pm and finishes at 6 pm.

Qatar International School is located in West Bay. From rainbow roundabout heading towards city center take the first right, building with sails on the roof is on the left after you turn. Approx 300 meters on the left is the Qatar International School. Park out side and the school hall is located towards the rear of the school in the middle. If the hall is empty then proceed to the grass fields at the back of the school on the left.

By late 2010, Doha Hockey Club plans to develop this into ladies only matches and hold a regional tournament.
