Doha Hockey Club play on international standard water-based Astroturf pitches owned by the Qatar Hockey Federation and the Qatar Olympic Comittee at Al Rayyan Sports Complex. The three pitches were built for the Asian Games hockey tournament held in 2006.
The Al Rayyan Sports Complex offers modern facilities for other sports: the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium where the professional Qatari football club Al-Rayyan is based and an indoor hall which accomodates basketball, volleyball, handball, athletics, table tennis and swimming teams.
Al-Rayyan is a historical city in the state of Qatar, the name meaning "the source of irrigation" and it is also the name of a door in heaven, in the Muslim faith.
